Ed Cahill
We are very excited to have
Ed Cahill as the judge for
the 3rd annual
Top of Georgia Plein Air Festival. Ed participates in plein air events in Georgia
and across the Southeast.
He has won over a dozen awards including nine first place finishes.
Ed now teaches oil painting and
plein air at Kennesaw State University and gives workshops both locally
and nationally.
Ed Cahill is an award-winning artist from Marietta, Georgia with a passion for representational art and plein air painting. Raised in the mid-west and introduced to painting and drawing at a young age, Ed took classes at the art institute as a child. He attended Carnegie Mellon University graduating with a BFA in 1977. While raising a family Ed worked in his family’s auto dealership and eventually managed his own ad agency for twenty years, painting part time. While living in Yardley, Pennsylvania he was represented by the Golden Door Gallery in New Hope. Since 1996 he has lived in Marietta, Georgia and is now represented by the Frameworks Gallery in Marietta. In addition to his successful career as an artist, Ed teaches oil painting and plein air at Kennesaw State University, The Art Place in Marietta, and the Chastain Arts Center in Atlanta.
